This Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and building new customer relationships to deliver year over year new customer acquisition and pipeline opportunity growth target for Wuxi Biologics Protein Science Division. The role will focus on new business generation through proactive outreaching and close collaboration with marketing team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Generating new business from new customers through high level of customer outreach and contact including customer visits and extensive networking activities.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and effectively promote Wuxi’s technical capabilities and specialties. Provide solution based consultative selling to meet customer needs.
- Maintain existing customers through trust based relationships and high quality customer support.
- Collaborate with marketing, project managers and production team to develop strategies that promote customer acquisition and retention.
- Collect market intelligence with information gathering and trend analysis on the industry, pricing, and competition.
- Collect, analyze and track competitors’ information and business move, help make departmental strategic plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in science or commensurate experience is preferred (e.g. MS, PhD, MBA)
- Experience in sales or business development is a plus
- Familiar with the protein purification and needs for small molecule drug discovery, such as assay development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with customers and key stakeholders, good conflict management skills
- Demonstrate ability to translate strategy into action; Strong influence, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- High energy level with strong drive to constantly improving; self-motivated.
