Hit the glass ceiling? It is not always easy to see the barriers in your career. Wouldn’t it be good to hear from your CEO what he really wants? Or understand how another CEO builds his management team? Peter Farrell, CEO, Founder, and Executuve Chairman of ResMed illuminates these questions for us:

Peter Farrell has been ResMed’s Chairman of the Board and Company director since 1989. He served as CEO from 1989-2008. From ResMed’s inception until 2004, Dr. Farrell was also ResMed’s President. From 1984-1989, Dr. Farrell served as VP of R&D at subsidiaries of Baxter International and as Managing Director of the Baxter Center for Medical Research Pty Ltd. from 1985-1989.
Dr. Farrell was named 1998 San Diego Entrepreneur of the Year for Health Sciences, Australian Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001 and US National Entrepreneur of the Year for 2005 in Health Sciences. In August 2000, he was named Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Harvard Medical School Division of Sleep Medicine and will become Chairman in June 2010. Dr. Farrell is also a director of NuVasive, Inc. and the non-executive chair of QRxPharma.

Take El Camino Real/Freeway 5
Exit Take right at that light, which is El Camino Real – Don’t follow signs to 5

Take next left on Del Mar Bluff Lane
